Remote Fibre Management
At the heart of the XSOS-288 is XENOptic’s innovative, patent-pending 3D Optical Switching (3D-OS) topology. This cutting-edge technology ensures exceptional optical performance and comprehensive traffic protection. Once the system is installed through splicing, all configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks can be performed remotely. This remote capability significantly reduces the total cost of ownership for fibre infrastructure while delivering a rapid return on investment.
The Optical Fibre Switch integrates an active switching system with a passive latching mechanism, enabling seamless automated provisioning and configuration. The main control unit oversees all switching components, monitors real-time cross-connection status and network performance, and communicates data and alarms to the central network management system.
It also supports SNMP/TL1 interfaces, ensuring compatibility with existing operational support systems (OSS).

Optical switching
Delivers advanced remote, non-blocking switching capabilities across thousands of ports, far surpassing the limitations of manual patch cords in legacy ODFs.
High optical performance
Ensures consistent insertion loss of less than 0.5dB and return loss below 65dB, preserving network power budgets and supporting high-speed signals.
Power-independent traffic
Utilises a proprietary latching mechanism that consumes power only during switching. Traffic continues uninterrupted during power failures, allowing repairs to be carried out without disrupting operations.
High density
The 3D-OS technology enables exceptional fibre density, managing up to 1,728 ports on a single side of a standard 19” rack or up to 3,456 ports with dual-sided back-to-back configurations.
Synchronised database and auto-discovery
All configurations are instantly reflected in management systems and automatically restored in the event of a failure.
Integrated Remote Fibre Testing System (RFTS)
Features a built-in Remote Fibre Testing System, allowing live link integrity to be tested remotely.
